We are seeking a skilled Furniture Repair Technician to join our team. This role involves inspecting, repairing, refinishing, and restoring various types of furniture to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in furniture repair, woodworking, and upholstery, as well as an eye for detail and craftsmanship.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about furniture restoration and skilled in working with wood, fabrics, and finishing materials.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess furniture for damages, defects, and necessary repairs.
- Perform structural and surface repairs, including fixing joints, reinforcing frames, and replacing broken parts.
- Sand, stain, paint, and refinish wooden surfaces to restore their original appearance.
- Utilize woodworking tools, hand tools, and power tools to complete repairs.
- Work with clients or internal teams to ensure furniture is restored to customer expectations.
- Keep records of repairs, materials used, and time spent on each project.
- Follow safety protocols and company guidelines for handling tools and materials.
Must Have
- Proven experience in furniture repair, woodworking, or a related trade.
- Proficiency in using woodworking tools and finishing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to match stains, paints, and finishes for seamless repairs.
- Basic upholstery repair knowledge.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy furniture pieces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Nice to have
- Experience in custom furniture design or refinishing.
- Knowledge of different types of wood, finishes, and upholstery materials.
- Certifications in woodworking or furniture restoration.
- Familiarity with CNC machines or advanced woodworking tools.
- Customer service experience for handling client repair requests.
